Interpreter Continuing Education and Resources

Continuing Education

In order to remain on the DC Courts Interpreter Registry, all interpreters must complete eight (8) hours of continuing education annually on matters related to interpretation. This requirement may be satisfied by attending the presentations organized by OCIS (presentations by judges, court staff, or OCIS staff), or annual conferences related to the field of translation and/or interpretation (i.e. presented by the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (NAJIT), the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), or the American Translators Association (ATA)). Proof of attendance must be submitted to the OCIS annually.
