Probate Self-Help Center
The Probate Self-Help Center assists the public with matters related to wills, small and large estates, and adult guardianship.
Location: Court Building A (515 5th Street, NW) - Room 316.
Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday; 8:30am-3:30pm.
The Center offers free seminars for the public - Guardianship Orientation seminars will be held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 12:00 to 1:00pm; and Inventory Preparation When Handling Someone Else's Money seminars will be held on the third Thursday of each month, also from 12:00 to 1:00pm.
The Center has an eLobby check-in, and kiosks that allow members of the public to indicate what tasks they wish to complete (for example: file a will, seek guardianship status for a loved one, etc). The program on the kiosk screen walks users through the information and forms they will need for filing. Users will be able to fill out the necessary forms online, print them and file them with the Probate Division. The Probate Self Help Center provides filers with a roadmap explaining each step in the process, from start to finish.
